Alright, I will be the first to admit that summer is arguably THE BEST season of the year. You’ve got the Fourth of July, days spent relaxing by the pool, adventurous hikes and fun to be had all around Cache Valley and an endless supply of those glorious cherry-mango red popsicles. Mmm. For some, summer may include a little bit more work and a little less play than desired. For others, summer may be chasing children across what seems to be every splash pad in the continental United States, enjoying the little moments while occasionally counting the days until school starts again. Regardless of what summer situation you find yourself in, I’m sure that you can agree with me when I say that it is getting HOT outside! I’m currently sitting writing this post in my parents’ house, where I have come to realize that for this upcoming Thanksgiving, my number one blessing that I’m counting is WORKING AIR CONDITIONING. Sometimes the swamp cooler in my own apartment just doesn’t cut it, you know? I wanted to share with you three of my tips for cooling off in this blistering summer air so that you can hopefully get a little bit of relief during this smokin’ hot season.
When I was younger, I was the BIGGEST tomboy in the entire universe. Like, the founder-of-the-“We-Hate-Pink” club-kind-of-tomboy. Needless to say, I only wore a dress under ABSOLUTE necessity. Boy, was I ever missing out! Fast-forward to 2016 Emi who has discovered the wonderful blessings that are the maxi skirt and the t-shirt dress. Dresses and skirts are an absolute summer staple because they are stylish, functional AND comfortable. I feel so much better in the summer heat when I’m in a dress! What more could you ask for, really? Nothing.
As mentioned earlier, I have a slight problem with those cherry-mango red and orange swirl popsicles. I would probably eat the entire bag if I could! To cool off this summer, find your favorite frozen treat and enjoy it! I’ve spent countless nights with friends at the local shaved-ice shack or at half-price shake time at Sonic. I’ve even found joy in simply eating some frozen fruit from those variety bags that you can get at Walmart! Whatever you enjoy, make sure you eat it frozen and feel your temperature drop a few degrees.
I feel like the word “swimsuit” can be one of the most terrifying words in the English language for some people. Good news, it doesn’t have to be that way! I’ve spent so much time searching online for the perfect suit, and sometimes the search is harder than others, that’s for sure. When it comes to finding the perfect suit, the only thing that truly matters is finding something that helps YOU to feel beautiful and confident. It doesn’t matter what is hip and new, all that matters is that you feel good! We just got the first season of Mikarose swimsuits in store and I am in LOVE. Come check out the new line of suits and I’m sure you will fall in love as well!
Good luck to all of you in beating that sweltering summer heat! We shall see you soon at Leven’s!
